American promotions declared the World Junior Heavyweight title vacant in
1982 after Saturo Sayama signed with the WWF. According to New Japan, the
NWA Board of Directors announced Tiger Mask as reigning World Junior
Heavyweight title in an annual meeting in
August of 1982. Saturo Sayama vacated the title on April 3, 1983 when he was
injured by the Dynamite Kid in a tag team match. On April 3, 1983, Dynamite
Kid took on Kuniaki Kobayashi for the vacated title but no winner was
decided. Dynamite Kid then took on previous champion, Saturo Sayama, for the
title on April 21, 1983, but no winner was decided in that match. [Credit:
