Mike Rapada defeats Recon of the Truth Commission, who won Music City Wrestling's version of the North American title from Mike Rapada on July 25, 1998 in Lebanon, Tennessee. The NWA Board of Directors announced that the MCW North American title was renamed to the NWA North American Heavyweight title effective on July 29, 1998 to prevent any confusion between the two titles. MCW announced that the winner of the match between Mike Rapada and Recon would be the new NWA North American Heavyweight Champion.
